A friendly reminder to not wear offensive costumes this Halloween that are appropriative of other cultures.
Offensive costumes:
- dressing as any culture whatsoever because cultural appropriation
- dressing as any animal because otherkin appropriation
- dressing as any fruit because fruitkin appropriation
- dressing as a Homestuck troll because trollkin appropriation
- dressing as an athlete unless you are one in which case it’s not a costume
- dressing as anything cube shaped because cubes can be triggering
- dressing in scanty clothing because it could be shaming of people who would not feel comfortable wearing that
- wearing full coverage because it might look like a burka if you wear too much and that’s cultural appropriation
- using makeup of any kind because clownkin appropriation
- wearing anything because it’s appropriative of someone no matter what it is
- wearing nothing because nudist appropriation
Acceptable costumes:
- don’t celebrate Halloween because Samhain appropriation.
